Young author Shannon Kubiak offers encouragement to teens in her book God Called a Girl. Describing how the Mother of God had a humble beginnings, she asserts that each of her readers has the opportunity to rise up to achieve God's great plans if only she will choose to follow the Lord's way.

Miss Kubiak draws from her high school and college experiences to share how God frequently turns challenges and disappointments into blessings. She weaves in stories of Mary's life of obedience and trust in the Lord to inspire the reader to a better life. Common concerns of young women such as peer acceptance, desire to get married, and temptation are addressed.

Recommendation: Written in an enjoyable and easy-to-read style, God Called a Girl is brimming with Christian guidance and reassurance.
