Greek Resources

by Anna1111

For a full introductory course in Biblical Greek for an adult, a college student, or a gifted late high school student, Basics of Greek Grammar by Mounce is a good resource. In addition, a minimum the following would be helpful:

  1. A basic but slow introduction to Greek phonics by whichever pronunciation method you prefer. For modern Greek this website may be helpful (although books exist which would be better yet.) For Erasmian pronunciation the first half of Basic Greek in Thirty Minutes a Day is very good.
  2. A text that teaches a more inductive reading method. Learn New Testament Greek by John H. Dobson is a good choice to complement the deductive strengths of Basics of Greek Grammar.
  3. An Interlinear Bible
  4. The Analytical Lexicon by Mounce
  5. Though not necessary, if you wish to do word studies, a good dictionary such as A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature is helpful.
