Statewide and Regional Organizations:
Loving Education at Home A statewide organization dedicated to supporting and promoting home education throughout New York. One of our major purposes is to support a statewide network of mutual support groups by and for home educating parents.
New York Home Educators' Network Comprised of New York State homeschoolers past, present, and future, from seasoned veterans to newcomers. We are a diverse group with different views, and we accept members regardless of their approaches to homeschooling.

A story of how Colonel Henry Knox traveled from Boston to Ft. Ticonderoga in NY to obtain cannons. He managed to haul them back to Boston to fight the British during the Revolutionary War. Great book, by the way!
Indian captive: The story of Mary Jemison by Lois Lenski
A story about a white girl captured/adopted by the Seneca Indians. She came to live for many years in the Genesee River Valley here in NY. Wonderful story... any book about her is fantastic, this one in particular is aimed at a younger audience.
