Laundry Soap

Posted by NM Stephanie

1 5.5 oz bar Fels Naptha Soap (Other brands will do.)
1 cup washing soda (more if you have hard water)
1 cup Borax

Grate the soap and mix it with 4 cups of water in a pan and stir over low heat until melted. Do not boil. Pour into a 5 gallon container and add 3 gallons of hot tap water. Stir until dissolved then add the washing soda and borax. Mix until dissolved. Leave overnight until set as a gel. Stir before using. Use 3/4 of a cup for regular load and a bit more for large loads. Use 3/8 of a cup for front loading machines. This does not suds, so you will not see bubbles in your wash.
