'Tastes Like a Strawberry Milkshake' Smoothie Recipe

1 c. frozen strawberries
1 banana
1/2 c. juice, berry or apple is good
1 c. milk, maybe a little more or less, depends on how thick you like it.
1/2 c. plain yogurt (optional)
1 c. ice

2 scoops vanilla flavored whey protein powder-necessary for the flavor. Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. I also add cinnamon, ginger, wheat germ, flaxmeal, walnuts, carrots, olive oil, nutritional yeast, kelp, black beans, etc.

Snappy Raspberry and Lemons

1 pkg sugar free raspberry jello
1 c boiling water
1 c cold diet Snapple raspberry iced tea

Dissolve Jello in hot water. Cool. Add iced tea. Refrigerate until jelled. For lemon, or other flavors, use sugar free jello and matching flavor Snapple.

Fireside Coffee Mix

2 cups hot chocolate mix
2 cups non-dairy creamer
1 1/2cups sugar
1cup instant coffee
1tsp cinamon
1/2tsp nutmeg (personally, I would leave this out)
Mix all together, use 3-4 spoonfulls per mug.

4th of July Float

Fruit punch
Vanilla ice cream
Blue food coloring
Pureed blueberries

Mix fruit punch with vanilla ice cream. You can even mixed blue food coloring or pureed blueberries to some of the ice cream to make it a red, white, and blue drink.

Blackberry Lemonade

About 6 lemons
4 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup picked-over fresh blackberries
Garnish: lemon slices

With a vegetable peeler remove zest from 4 lemons and squeeze enough juice from these and remaining 2 lemons to measure 1 cup. In a saucepan boil 2 cups water with sugar, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Add zest, lemon juice, and remaining 2 cups water and cool. In a food processor or blender puree blackberries and stir into lemonade. Pour blackberry lemonade through a sieve into a pitcher or other container and chill. Chill lemonade, covered, at least until cold and up to 2 days. Serve lemonade over ice in tall glasses, garnished with lemon slices.

Strawberry Lemon Crush

1/2 cup super fine sugar
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1 cup stemmed and halved strawberries
1 cup unflavored sparkling water or soda water
Cracked ice
Fresh mint sprigs, garnish

In a 2 cup measuring cup, combine the sugar, lemon juice, and water and stir to dissolve the sugar. In the bender, combine the strawberries and sweetened water. Puree on high speed until smooth. Add the sparkling water and pulse to incorporate. Taste and add more sugar if desired, and pulse to incorporate. Place cracked ice in 2 tall Collins glasses. Pour the strawberry crush over the ice, garnish with mint sprigs, and serve.

Tropical Strawberry Smoothie

3 cups vanilla flavored custard style, low fat or nonfat yogurt
1 cup coconut milk, found on drink mix aisle of market
14 ice cubes
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 ripe banana, peeled and cut into chunks
1-inch fresh ginger root, grated (or 1/2 tsp dried ginger)
2 large stem strawberries, garnish

Combine yogurt, coconut milk, ice cubes, pineapple, banana and grated ginger in a blender and blend until smooth and frothy. Serve in tall glasses and garnish with a large stem strawberry
