I recieved one set of paperwork. I didn't get the financial ones, only the "guardianship" ones. I just filled them out and didn't THINK about all my issued with this!! grrr...

If I think about it, it'll just make me so angry! I have them all three filled out and ready to send in. ONly the last question is about filing the financial papers, which I do not have.

I called the probate court, with heart racing! I have never had a great time dealing with them. Last year I blessed them out three times, once over the phone, and twice in person. ::eyes rolling:: I gave up. You can't educate gov. employees. They have cushy jobs and stick to the letter of the law, and when they don't stick to the letter of the law.. oh, well. It's your problem, not thiers. They don't care to see where they are wrong.

Today when I called, I got a different lady on the phone and she was actually helpful!! She answered my questions and said they were shorthanded this week. She asked me to wait unit Friday or Monday to bring in my papers for notarization (this is the same papers that they told me last year I did not have to bring in for notorization, that I could just mail them.. which I knew was not correct because it has to be notorized by a clerk court... but I digress).

I asked her about the financial papers and she said all paperwork is computer generated. When the computer kicks out my name, I'll get my forms when it comes up in line. (these are the same papers that they told me last year I did not have to file ever again, that once was enough.. when it states on the paperwork that they are due annually! When I questioned that, they just said to check that I had already filed and not to worry about it.)
Today, this new lady told me to just write on the paperwork that I have not filed financial forms because I have yet to recieve them! lol!
who knows when I'll get them? I didn't even tell her that they are 4 months overdue already..

I'm dealing with this much better than I did last year. Now I'm at the stage of just getting it over with... shaking my head at the absurdity of it all... filling out the forms so I don't have to look at them again until next year. (and praying the computer does not kick out my name ever again, lol) laughing the laugh of a person stuck in a trap of which only time will release...

Thanks Martha..
It's actually very scary to think of what they could do if they wanted to.. and I'd have no say whatsoever... That's why I am following my lawyers advice and just filing the forms on time and not making (too many) waves.

(I do make waves, but not big ones like I'd like... I have made it well known my feelings about this whole thing to the probate court. I'm sure they roll their eyes once I leave!)

It stinks when there's beauracracy at the helm of EVERYTHING, doesn' it???

While dealing with the IRS on the phone recently for my parents, there was a recording that said they are NOT bound to anything an agent says over the phone. Nothing like covering their rear end in case they mislead me.

Praying this situation gets resolved quickly and that you won't have any more headaches getting this taken care of.

{{{{hugs}}}} and prayers.

Cindy

I'm trying to keep things in perspective. It's going easier this year.. I think because I've the experience from last year under my belt.. and it's not a shock now, as it was last year when I had no idea I'd be required to do this!

And I'm just plain tired of it.. lol! I'll have to file these forms unil my dc turn 18. My youngest is 14 now.

Thanks so much for the prayers, Cindy!
