I figured to post this here so I won't violate the "stay on topic" rule, lol!

I've only made my own Christmas cards once. I did two different designs using stamps. I colored in with colored pencils after I stamped them the way I wanted them.

In the end, one design turned out better, and easier to make.. so I stopped making the 2nd design and did the rest in the 1st design.

This year, I'll do just one design. It's too much work to try to do several. And I figure, I'm only sending one per household, so they'll only see one design anyway.

This year, I won't use stamps. I have an idea that I got out of a book, so I'll have to draw something up on the computer and print it off.
I tend to be more motivated to doing homemade ones if I don't make it too complicated... afterall, I'll be making 30 or so of the same thing.. and it will get to be not-so-fun after number 10!

from the SU idea books and from www.splitcoaststampers.com. I have a cuttlebug and cricut and some rubber stamps to work with. I'll probably do a few different designs, depending on how hard and time consuming they are. That's why I need to get started soon.

The ones I made were really fun to do. I didn't think I'd enjoyed it but I did.

I did get burned out after a while, and it became a job. lol! But it IS worth while once they're finished.

I have seen some really beautiful ones. Some of the ones I received from the HSC ladies were very well done. It inspires me to keep trying to improve my design.

one for my fil and one for my 4 yo niece. Mine aren't the greatest; I'm still a newbie, but I really enjoy it. I've been looking at stamps and cartridges for my cricut all weekend. I told dh I'm making my Christmas list. lol  Can't wait to go to Hobby Lobby next week.

I made 3 birthday cards this weekend. I just love them all so much that I hate to give them away!!!!

I am collecting the materials I will need for Christmas Cards...I have at least 2 different cards I want to make this year. Both of them are fairly simple - which is what I like.

I am going to a Stamp-A-Stack this Friday night. The girl that got me started with Stampin' Up! is hosting it. We will be doing 3 card each of 5 designs for a total of 15 cards. That will give me some "back up" cards (when I need a card in a hurry!) PLUS some good ideas! I can't wait!

Pics! I wanna see pics of your cards!

What do you do with the inside of your cards? Do you have a lot of "verse" stamps?

Sometimes I put a verse inside.

Most of the time I leave it blank but I may stamp a small, coordinating image somewhere on the inside in a tone-on-tone color.
I like to decorate the envelope, too.

I am not super great at it, but I sure do have fun with it.

Can you tell me how to post pics?

I am not sure how to do this, but if you can tell me how, my son will help me.

I am not that great, but I do love it, and I would be more than happy to share what I have done.

you can create an account and upload to Walmart. Then you right click on the pic and click copy image location. Then when in your post here, click the insert/edit image button right below the font size. Right click on image url and click paste then insert. Hope that's clear! I'm not good at giving directions like this. lol

I just asked Alexisse last night if she'll design our Christmas card this year. I don't know WHEN she'll be home again to help me and for all I know when she moves out this time, it may be for good, then I'll have missed the moment to have her help me again. She's a wonderful artist. All I'll have to do is figure out a background for her beautiful artwork.

I tend to make things one design at a time...I seem to work well like a machine and once I get one design in my head, it's hard for me to think of another one. Of course, I'm the stick figure artist and I thank God for stamps to help express my creative mind. ; )

Praying it comes together for you easily and that the time you put into making your cards will truly bless you as well as the recipient.

Which reminds me...goodness...we need to get a Christmas Card Exchange organizer on HSC, don't we? I wonder who we could find to do that.

I was hoping to spend more than an hr in my craft room but the dizziness is just too much. I made 2 simple but pretty cards using my cuttlebug. I have a few more designs I want to try that I saw in my PaperCrafts magazine.
