In When Homeschooling Gets Tough, Practical Advice to Stay on Course, Diana Johnson considers the complexity of homeschooling and exhorts homeschooling mothers to persevere through their difficulties. Her first topic, answering self doubt, is one that plagues many homeschooling moms and still bothers her even after twenty years of experience.

Mrs. Johnson draws from her personal life and her work in a homeschool supply store to address choosing curricula. She recommends that parents be creative, flexible, and realistic in selecting products that will work for their families rather than curricula that is popular.

In following chapters the author explores balancing commitments, scheduling, and dealing with a difficult child, among other topics. Mrs. Johnson encourages homeschooling mothers to bring glory to the Lord and to gain strength from Him by studying His Word, praying, and assembling with other Christians.

Recommendation: When Homeschooling Gets Tough offers encouragement that struggling homeschooling mothers will find reassuring and helpful.
