In Family Countdown to Christmas, Debbie Trafton O'Neal has the goal of bringing families together during Advent and Epiphany. Prayers and explanations of traditions of the past are combined with crafts and stickers to make waiting for Christmas easier for the youngest family members.

One page for each day from December 1 to January 6 appears in the book. A short explanation of a Christmas tradition, a prayer, or a suggested Scripture reading begins the page. Then a craft or recipe with a list of ingredients and straightforward directions follows. The page ends with instructions to put a sticker on the "countdown picture," a grid of numbered blocks that forms a picture when all the stickers are on it.

Family Countdown to Christmas has an attractive purple cover and whimsical illustrations throughout. The slick, high quality paper makes this a durable book that can be used year after year.

Recommendation: Family Countdown to Christmas brings fun to the Advent and Epiphany season for young family members. While the daily activities will have the children looking eagerly forward to each day, the historic references will allow learning. This book offers an easy way to unite your young family and bring members closer to one another.
