Diane Flynn Keith defines the word "carschooling" and opens a new world of learning to families who spend time together in the car. The over 350 activities in this book bring a family closer together as everyone learns more about a diversity of subjects including astronomy, geography, anatomy, and grammar. Drawing ideas from carschooling parents all over the country, Mrs. Keith provides a plethora of options that will ignite the imaginations of both children and parents. She lists many books and tapes by title, but many of the activities require nothing or the most basic items such as pencil and paper. With strategies to handle multiple age ranges, the author suggests things to do for both long and short trips. Both the author and contributors discuss the "plug-in drug," the television, and its negative effect on family conversation, games, and bonding.
