Community Helpers: Make a "mailbox" out of a shoebox and let your children play mail carrier with the junk mail.

"Grocery Store" -- self-explanatory with the canned goods you already have. See if the kids can create a balanced meal on their own (tuna, noodles and peas, etc.)

"Fireman" -- let the kids draw flames with chalk on the sidewalk outside (while you lay in a deck chair) and then let them put out the "fires" with squirt bottles. Caution: they will undoubtedly squirt themselves, so follow this activity with...

Happy Bath: let the kids use non-toxic paint to paint the inside of the tub and the walls with no water in the tub. When they're through (or you are), use the shower massager to hose everything down, then fill the tub with bubble bath for squeaky clean kids.

PLAY-DOUGH!!! Great to make (although if you're nauseous have a friend do it so you don't have to smell it). Maybe "scent" it with Kool-aid. Let the kids knock themselves out with it. Great tactile activity.

Sorting. Take that old button box and let the kids sort by color, size, etc. You don't need fancy manipulatives for this! If your kids have some level of dexterity, thread a needle and let them string the buttons into a necklace.
