Bullseye Step Into Classics

Introducing your child to the classics is very important; however, reading an abridged classic can be equated with re-painting the Mona Lisa with a different smile. The masterpiece has been altered and will never be the same. Many children feel that since they have read this version, they do not want to read the real book. Bullseye books are good at introducing young readers to the plots of classics, and some homeschoolers feel this is appropriate. I'd like to recommend listening to age-appropriate, unabridged classics on CD as an alternative. Look for tapes/CD's at your public library, or subscribe to On the Go or Simply Audiobooks audiobook rental/download services. -- Martha Robinson
