Cross Stitching

An Interview with Heather C.

How did you get started? A lady that we went to church with showed me what she was doing and let me do a few stitches. I was hooked. I saw her about a year ago and told her how much I appreciated what she had done and how much I enjoy cross-stitching.

What materials and costs are involved? Depends on the project; floss (thread) is 25 cents each and the material is around $10 (depending on the size you need). I have kept the extra floss from each piece I have done, now when I start a new piece all I need to do is check to see what colors I am missing - holds the cost down. The material can be cut to size, so if your project is 5x7, you can get a larger piece and cut what you need and save the other for a later project.

How does it bless you or others? I made a birth announcement for my great niece - it brought tears to my niece's eyes when she opened it. I have also presented my parents with an anniversary piece that they have hanging on their wall. The other pieces that I have done are hanging in various places around my house. - I can basically tell you where I was or what was going on in my life at the time I did them.
